All around us people are moving into unfurnished properties, ready to make a fresh start. First time buyers, students, downsizers, renters – all with stories to tell of how they came to move in to an empty home.
For many, money is scarce, and cash to spend on furniture is way down the list.
The only cost anywhere is fuel for the team’s trusty and economical hybrid van. And to keep costs as low as possible, everything the team finds must come from within a fifteen-mile radius of the makeover home.
Every episode is packed with take-home, tips, tricks and hacks, to help viewers access the free, surplus to requirement, world around them. The team has just 1 Week to deliver a property fully furnished and decorated absolutely free. At a push, they’ll even take on gardens and outdoor spaces. Everything the team brings in through the door must have cost them nothing.
At last the lucky tenants return with eyes closed, they are taken into their property ready for the big reveal. Room by room they see for themselves just what can be achieved for zero outlay, just know-how and elbow grease. Before and after shots help the viewer take in the possibilities open to them too.
